Light it up

Each year on the Saint John harbourfront, Port Saint John installs a giant Christmas tree covered in more than 130,000 light bulbs. As donations are made, strings on the tree are lit until the entire tree is covered with twinkling lights. Once the fundraising total reaches $150,000, the star at the very top of the tree is illuminated but donations continue being accepted into the New Year.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, the Harbour Lights campaign has raised more than $3.5 million in support of local food banks since the campaign started in 1997.

Port Saint John thanks their supporting partner at Saint John Energy for contributing the cost of electrifying the tree.
