Dennis Oland's second-degree murder trial coverage: Sept 17

The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland in the death of his father started Wednesday in Saint John, more than four years after Richard Oland's body was discovered in his uptown office.

The court heard on Wednesday morning that Oland died from40 blows to the head.

Dennis Oland, 46,pleaded not guiltylast week, in the death of his father Richard Oland.

Justice John Walsh, who has been brought in from Miramichi to hear the high-profile case,told the jury hehadn't yet seen the photos,but he warned they will be graphic and likely upsetting.

He urged the jurorsto "steel" themselves for the "shock."
