Devan Breau's body found near site of overturned canoe on Saint John outskirts

The body of 18-year-old Devan Breau of Musquash was found Wednesday, three days after he told his family he was going fishing.

The body of 18-year-old Devan Breau of Musquash was found Wednesday, three days after he left his hometo go fishing.

RCMP divers found Breau's body at 10:50 a.m.in the East Branch Reservoir on the outskirts of Saint John.

Hewas reported missing Sunday night afterpaddlers found his canoe overturned in the reservoir.

RCMP recovered the body not far from where thecanoe was found.

According toRCMP,Breauleft home around noon on Sunday, telling his sister that he was going fishing.

Family and friends were at the reservoir during the search, but theydid not speak withCBCNews.

Twelve organizations, including search and rescue workers from a wide area, took part in the search for Devan Breau. (CBC)

The body was taken to hospital, where an autopsy will be done.The autopsy results will be released to the family.

Twelve organizations took part in the search for Breau, including Ambulance New Brunswick,the Musquash Fire Department, the Department of Energy and Resource Development, RCMP, and ground search and rescue volunteers from Charlotte County, York Sunbury, River Valley, Carleton and Greater Fundy.
