Cap-Pel man missing after falling overboard in Shediac Bay

RCMP and the Canadian Coast Guard are searching for a 59-year-old Cap-Pel man who fell overboard in Shediac Bay Friday night.

RCMP and the Canadian Coast Guard are searching for a 59-year-old Cap-Pel man who fell overboard in Shediac Bay on Friday night.

RCMP received a report that a man had fallen from a boat approximately 11 p.m. in the area between Pointe-du-Chne and Caissie Cape.

Friends on the boat tried to rescue him, said Shediac RCMP Cpl. Eric Hansen.

An extensive search began late Friday night and has been ongoing since then.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is also assisting with the search.
