No serious injuries after pickup truck hits school bus

A man had to be extracted from his pickup truck after it rear-ended a school bus in MiramichionTuesday afternoon.

The MiramichiPolice say the school bus was stopped and unloading students on Water Streetwhen the collision occurred.

Paramedics checked out the seven students on the school bus. Police say one student was sent to the Miramichi Regional Hospital for further observation.

The driver of the pick-up truck was also sent to hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

MiramichiPolice Force are investigating the cause of the accident.

Traffic was slowed for 45 minutes while emergency workers tended to the injured parties and removed the vehicles from the scene.
