Patrick Morrison rescued in a boat, after SUV flips

Patrick Morrison was driving down Route 101 when he realized the Route 101 was washed out.

Hoyt man didn't know Route 101 was washed out until the accident happened

A Hoytman had to be rescued in a boat on Wednesday nightafter his SUV flipped over and landed on its roof below Route 101, which was washed out bythe rain storm that hit the province.

Patrick Morrison was driving down Route 101when he realized the ruralroadwas washed out.

"He was going to feed his friend's dog andtherewasno road," said Chrissy Gillet, who lives in Hoyt.

"There was no warning or anything that there was no road."

Morrison,who is in his mid-30s,was driving his blueChevrolet Blazer when itwent off the road. The area wasso badly flooded at the time of the accident that hehad to be be brought to an ambulance by boat.

"They had a boatwaitingforhimon the other side in the valley to get him in an ambulance," said Gillet.

"He has to go back in a few days to see if there are any internalinjuries."

Gillet said it wasimpossible to get out of Hoyt on Thursday morningand there's no telling when the water levels will decrease.

"It dependson how fast the water dropsif they have the Mactaquac damopen it holds it in longer," she said.
