Accused killer Anne Norris headed to preliminary inquiry in October

The Mount Pearl woman accused of killing Marcel Reardon in the downtown area of St. John's in early May will have a preliminary inquiry in October.

Anne Norris, 28, appearedvia video link from the Correctional Centre for Women in Clarenville when her case was called in St. John's provincial court on Wednesday.

Lawyers set a preliminary hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial for several weeks beginning on Oct.17.

On the morning of May 9, a resident of Harbour View Apartments on Brazil Street in St. John's discovered Reardon's lifeless body outside the complex.

The superintendent of the building told CBC News that it appeared as though Reardon was "clubbed to death."

In court documents filed with the murder charge, Norris is listed as living on the third floor of thatapartment building.

Norris has retained former justice minister Jerome Kennedy and high-profile defence attorney Rosellen Sullivan as her lawyers.
