Alleged assault at HMP under investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary isinvestigating an alleged assault at Her Majesty's Penitentiary in St. John's this week.

Police said an inmate is accused of assaulting another inmate Tuesday afternoon.

According to the RNC, injuries are minor.

Last week, police were called to HMP after some inmates refused to return to their cells.

The RNC described thatincident as a "disturbance."
