Anne Norris charged with 1st degree murder of Marcel Reardon

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Major Crime Unit has made an arrest in the homicide of 46-year-old Marcel Reardon.

The RNC arrested Anne Norris, 32, without incident on Friday, charging her with first-degree murder in the case involving Marcel Reardon.

RNCarrested Anne Norris, 32,without incident on Friday, charging her with first-degree murder.

Court documents say Norris is 32-years-old, but police have listed heras28.The documents alsoshow she is from St. John's, andlived in the same building thatReardon'sbody was found outside on Monday.

About a dozen of Marcel Reardon's friends and family were in court on Saturday as Norris faced her charges.

The RNC has arrested and charged a woman with the sudden death of Marcel Reardon, 46.

Johnathan McDonald and Bob Buckinghamwill representNorris, andMcDonald provided counsel toherduring herappearance.

In addition to the charges, a no-contact order has alsobeenput in place, barring Norris from contacting three people:Kevin O'Brien, Jessica Peach and Shawn Pumphrey.

She is set to appear in court again May 24 for a status update, and will have a bail hearing in a superior court as provincial court does not have jurisdiction.

Marcel Reardon's body was found outside Harbour View Apartments on Brazil Street in St. John's on Monday morning. A resident of the apartment complex made the discovery.

Reardon had a minor criminal record, and there were allegations against him of mischief and trespassing. He was due to appear in court in May and June.

The RNC have recovered a weapon believed to have been involved in the crime, and believe the arrest of the accused has eliminated the public safety concern caused by this incident.
