Bedbug appears in St. John's provincial court

It's hardly an infestation, but it's been confirmed that a bedbug was spotted, and squished, in a hallway Tuesday at provincial court in St. John's.
One bedbug was found in the provincial court building of Newfoundland and Labrador in St. John's Tuesday.

It's hardly an infestation, but it's been confirmed that a bedbug was spotted, and squished, in a hallway Tuesdayat provincial court in St. John's.

St. John's-based pest-control company Orkin Canada has been called about the bug's presence. It will bring in trained sniffer dogs next week to make sure there aren't any moreof them,or any presence ofeggs.

The companysaid it is not concerned about the solitary critter.So far, there is no information on how the bug got into the building.

Earlier this week, an apartment building in the west end of St. John's made headlines when residents complained a bedbug infestation was turning their lives upside down.

The property owner said seven units were found to be infested with bedbugs.
