The Conservative nomination in the federal riding of Terra NovaThe Peninsulas will have some competition ahead of the next election.

Former Trades N.L. executive director and MHA, Darin King announced his intention Wednesday to seek the Conservative nomination for the riding.

King was also a cabinet minister for the provincial PC government and MHA for the district of Grand Bank from 2007 to 2015.

"I know how government works and have the experience needed to deliver results for our riding," King said in a press release. "But first we must secure the Conservative nomination."

Rowe, a civil engineer, says his conservative values and passion for the community have prepared him to advocate in Ottawa.

"As an engineer, I bring a problem-solving mindset to politics, focused on long-term practical solutions that meet our community's challenges," Rowe said in a press release.

Liberal MP Churence Rogers represents the district of Terra NovaThe Peninsulas, formerly known as Bonavista-Burin-Trinity. With the 2022 name change came a redrawing of the riding boundary, gaining the east coast of Placentia Bay from the Avalon riding, while losing Salmon Cove to Avalon.
