Man, 25, dies after car collides with transport truck near Clarenville

A 25-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway west ofClarenvilleTuesday night.

Around 11:30 p.m., acar travelling east crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a transport truck, RCMP say.

Accident was fatal

The man who died was a passenger in the car. He was seriously injured and pronounced dead at hospital.

The 31-year-old male driver was also brought to hospital with injuries that police say are not life-threatening.

The driver of the transport truck, 59, was also taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

A helicopter was dispatched to the scene to assist with transporting people to hospital.
