Four arrested in connection with St. John's break-in

A police investigation into a home invasion in St. John's on April 13 has led to the arrest of four people.

A police investigation into a home invasion in St. John's on April 13 has led to the arrest of four people.

Police say three men, one of them carrying a handgun,entered a home on MacKenzie Street and robbed the occupants of a quantity of cash.

A 60-year-old male resident of the home was injured in the incident and was hospitalized with head injuries.

Two men, aged 27 and 24, have been charged with breaking and entering, armed robbery, committing an indictable offence and breach of probation.

A 31-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman are facing charges of possession of stolen property, obstruction of justice and breach of probation.

All four will make a court appearance on Saturday.

The police investigation also led to a home on Merrymeeting Road where the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary executed a search warrant on Friday.

Police say they'll be back for a further search of the residence on Saturday.
