Gas prices up second week in a row

After falling for nearly two months, the Public Utilities Board is increased the maximum price of gas by 1.5 cents.
After nearly two months of steady decline, people in Newfoundland and Labrador will be paying a little more at the pump for the second consecutive week. ((CP))

For the second week in a row, fuel prices have inchedup in Newfoundland and Labrador.

After falling for nearly two months, the Public Utilities Board is increasing the maximum price of gasoline by 1.5 cents a litre.The change may be slightly less in some pricing areas due torounding for taxes.

That means that a litre of self-serve unleaded on the Avalon Peninsula can now sell for a maximum of 101.2 cents per litre.

Furnace oil is also up, now costing almost two cents more a litre.

Diesel is also up by just over two cents a litre.

The increases include the impact of the lower Canadian dollar.
