Hydro worker injured at Holyrood station

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says a worker was injured Friday afternoon while working on one of the thermal units.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says a worker was injured Friday afternoon while working at the Holyrood plant.

In a statement, Hydro said the employee was doing work on one of the thermal units when he was injured.

The worker was treated on-site by emergency response technicians and then transported by ambulance to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's.

Hydro didn't specify the nature of the injury.

However, the company said operations at the generating station were not affected.

Hydro said it would be providing supports to the employee and hisfamily, as well as the first responders at the Holyrood plant.
