Dwight Ball hit the highway Tuesday to take the Liberal campaign on the road, with the party's strategy clearly aimed at seats held by the governing Tories.

At his first campaign stop, Ball shook hands at a Tim Hortons coffee shop in Clarenville while encouraging voters to choose candidate Colin Holloway, who is hoping to unseat PC cabinet minister Sandy Collins on Nov. 30.

Later Tuesday, Ball will be campaigning with Gander candidate John Haggie, who hopes to become the first Liberal since Tobin-era cabinet minister Sandra Kelly to represent the central Newfoundland district.

On Wednesday, Ball is scheduled to fly to Labradorto focus on the two seats in the region that the Liberals don't already have: Labrador West and Lake Melville.

Ball is expected to head to western Newfoundland on Friday.
