The former head of the provincial Liberals says the party is "reaping the benefits of all the hard work" by party members in years past.

Judy Morrow, pastpresident of the Newfoundland and LabradorLiberal Party, attributes the party'scurrent success to "a lot of hard work by a lot of volunteers."

Leading into the Nov.30 election, theLiberalsare topping allthe polls by a wide margin.

Morrow became partypresident in 2009, during a period whentheLiberals held onlythree seats after the Progressive Conservatives under Danny Williams sweptto power by winning 44 seats in 2007.

"2011 was a tough election, but through a lotof hard work by volunteers and people who believed in the values of the Liberal Party, It all came to fruition," she said.

"It's all coming together finally for us in this election."

Morrow said stickingwith the party during the bad times and now, seemingly, the good times"is so rewarding."

"We had a really dynamic leadership race and I think that did a lot for the party. And it brought a lot of credibility to the party," she said.

Morrowsaid the hard work needs to continue towards Nov. 30 and party members shouldn't, and won't,getcomplacent.

Federal Liberal push

She also attributes some of the current momentum to thedecisive Liberal win during the Oct. 19 federal election.

"We're a blended party, this is what alot of people don't realize," she said.

"When I was president of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland, I was also the Newfoundland representativeon thenational board for theLiberalPartyof Canada and I believe we're the only party that does that. In know thathe PCs don't for sure."

Morrow saidthere hasalwaysbeen collaboration betweenthe federal andprovincial party, saying "this is how our party has been designed."

"Of course, the success nationally spills over to success provincially as it does [reciprocally],and of course some of the volunteers are the same."

When asked aboutelection day predictions, Morrow said she expects"avery strong Liberal win. How about that?"
