Obstetrical, pediatric services to resume in Gander

Central Health said obstetrical delivery and pediatric services will resume at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander as of 8 p.m. Friday.

Those services were not available since Dec. 16because of doctor shortages. During that time, the health authority requested that patients go to the hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Central Health now hasa pediatrician working in Gander temporarilywhilewaitingfor a physician to fill a permanent position in April.
