Regatta Roulette isa game that many people in St. John's enjoy playing, but one that comes with significant risk.

On Tuesday, plenty of people in the city will try their hand at the dangerous game and stay up late, possibly for a late night out on the town.

Perhaps they'll go see Shanneyganock at George Street Festival, or have a couple beers with friends at home or in their shed, but one thing's for certain: they're all banking on work being called off tomorrow in honour of North America's oldest annual sporting event.

So how's she cutting? Environment Canada meteorologistDale Foote at the Gander Weather Officesays the odds areeverin your favour that the Royal St. John's Regattawill go ahead tomorrow at Quidi Vidi Lake.

It might not be the nicest day ever, but this forecast from 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday suggests that the Royal St. John's Regatta will go ahead on Wednesday. (Environment Canada)

"Generally a cloudy day, chances of sun in the afternoon, [but] the winds should stay less than 20 kmper hourfor the day," said Foote.

With the wind under control, and only a bit of drizzle and fog in the morning, it looks like the Regatta will go ahead.

That means regatta roulette players may just get lucky.

"If I had to put money on it,if I had to, I'd put a good dollar on it," said Foote.
