Santa Claus Parade draws thousands to downtown St. John's

An estimated 40,000 people lined the streets of downtown St. John's on Sunday for the annual Santa Claus parade.

For many, the parade is the official start of the Christmas season, a chance to get out and listen tosome music, watch some floats and see the big man in red himself.
