St. John's teacher, rugby player Danny King dies suddenly

Arugby player and teacher at WaterfordValley High Schoolin St. John's has died suddenly.

Danny King taught physical education and nutrition at the school on Topsail Road. He also played with the Swilers Rugby Club in St. John's.

Students at Waterford Valley High Schoolwere notified Monday of his death. A crisis support team has been at the school providing counselling for students and staff.

"The entire district offers our support and condolences to the family and friends of Mr. King; they are certainly in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time," said Ken Morrissey with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District in an email.

There is no word on the cause of death.
