Brad Gushue vows to 'come out angry' after Brier setbacks

After another disappointing loss, Team Newfoundland and Labrador has slipped to fourth place at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier.

After another disappointing loss, Team Newfoundland and Labrador has slipped to fourth place at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier.

Team NL led by skip Brad Gushue fell 8-4 at the eigthdraw at Mile One Centre on Tuesday against Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories.

"We have to find a way to be a little bit more sharp and get a little bit more edge and maybe come out angry tonight," Gushue told CBC following the loss.

"I'm not sure what the answer is but we're going to figure it out. We'll be different tonight and hopefully different in a good way."

The loss ends the momentum that Team Gushuehad coming out of Draw 7, where the rink took down Saskatchewan 10-5.

The hometown team is now sitting at a 3-2 record for the round robin tournament.

"I think we're just disappointed in how we played. I don't think we played anywhere near our capabilities today," Gushue said. "They played well but we didn't force them into anything tough."

Team Gushueheads to a highly anticipated match-up at 8 p.m. against Team Northern Ontario, led by fellow Olympic gold medalist Brad Jacobs.

"We gotta figure that out because we have a big game tonight," Gushue said.
