Hebron modules damaged in Bull Arm incident, no injuries reported

After CBC News received a tip that a construction incident had caused "major damage" to topside modules on the Hebron oil platform Thursday, officials with WorleyParsons Canada later confirmed the incident had taken place.

After CBC Newsreceived a tip that a construction incident hadcaused "major damage" to topside modules on the Hebron oil platform Thursday, officials withWorleyParsons Canada later confirmed the incident had taken place.

A spokesperson with WorleyParsons Canada, which is the prime contractor with theHebron Topsides Project,confirmed on Sunday that an "operational incident" occurred at the Bull Arm site during "topsides commissioning activities" last Thursday.

No personnel were in the area at the time and no injuries were reported. An investigation into the matter is underway.

In an email to CBC News, WorleyParsons Canada said that its "priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors."

A Hebron topside module known as the 'drilling equipment set' arrived at Bull Arm from Korea in November. It is the first complete Hebron module, and is being integrated with other components. (ExxonMobil)
