2 suspects arrested in rifle theft from Yellowknife Canadian Tire

Two people have been arrested in connection with atheft of firearms from Yellowknife's Canadian Tire last month.

The arrests took place Tuesday night.

One suspect was arrested during atraffic stop on Taylor Road, and the arrest was recorded on cellphone video by a neighbourhood resident.

The second suspect was arrested in a parking lot of a business onRange Lake Road.

Two rifles were stolen from a locked case at theCanadian Tire store on Old Airport Road while the store was open on the evening of May 25.The stolen rifles are a Rossi Ranch Hand, and a Chiappa Survival Series.

Both suspects remain in police custody. Police say the rifleshave not been recovered.
