2015 Iditarod sled dog race underway in Alaska

The Iditarod, a historic sled dog race between Anchorage and Nome, Alaska, began its 42nd running on Monday, March 9. Associated Press photographer Loren Holmes was on scene at the Manley Hot Springs checkpoint, capturing scenes of the mushers and their dogs as they traverse the Alaskan wilderness.
