Cape Dorset attack kills 1

RCMP in Cape Dorset, Nunavut, are investigating a shooting and stabbing incident Sunday that has left one person dead and another recovering from stab wounds.

Police told CBC News on Monday that they are still trying to piece together what happened Sunday night, but they believe the young man who was stabbed was likely involved in the incident.

Police would not disclose the name, gender or age of the deceased, who was shot.

Cape Dorset, a hamlet of about 1,200, is located 400 kilometres west of Iqaluit on the southwestern coast of Baffin Island.
