Health officials issue COVID-19 exposure notices for Behchok and Yellowknife

The notices from the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer related to Yellowknife state that anyone who was at the locations at the times given should monitor for symptoms, whether they're fully or partially vaccinated, or unvaccinated.

Notice for Behchok includes the entire community and those who have visited it since Sept. 15

The N.W.T. Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (OCPHO) issued several additional COVID-19 exposure notices for Yellowknife, and one for the whole communityBehchok, Wednesday.

The public exposure notice forBehchok is for anyonewho lives in or has visitedthe community anytime sinceSept.15. Those who did and are fully vaccinatedare asked to self-monitor for symptoms. Shouldsymptomsdevelop, they must self-isolate immediately and make arrangements to get tested.

Individuals who live inor have visited the community and are partially-vaccinated or unvaccinated,are required to get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they get a negative result.

Exposure notices issued Wednesday forYellowknife now include:

  • Birchwood Coffee K on Sept. 24 and 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • The Kilt and Castle pub on Sept. 23 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sept. 24, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The Gold Range Bistro from Sept. 20 to 23, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

  • The Woodyard Brewhouse and Eatery on Sept. 17 and 18, from 6 p.m. to close.

The notices state thatanyone who was at these locations at these timesshould monitor for symptoms, whether they're fully or partially vaccinated, or unvaccinated.

The notices were issued after the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer declaredwidespread community transmission in Yellowknife,WhatandBehchok, and said that it would only list "high risk public exposures requiring further action."

The exposure notices followTuesday's notices forThe Black Knight Pub, The Kilt and Castle Pub, Cai's Kitchen and a Sept. 24 WestJetflightfrom Edmonton to Yellowknife.
