Former Speaker David Laxton dumped as candidate by Yukon Party

Laxton resigned as Speaker May 10 and began sitting as an independent following allegations of sexual harassment.

The Yukon Party has dropped former Speaker David Laxton as its candidate in Porter Creek Centre.

Laxton resigned as Speaker May 10 and began sitting as an independent following allegations of sexual harassment.

Linda Hiller,the party president,says the party's Nomination Application Review Committee disallowed the candidacy.Hiller says it has that authority under the party constitution.

The territorial election will be held later this year.
