Father of Whitehorse homicide victim Christopher Brisson speaks out

The father ofChristopher Brisson is speaking out for the first time, as police continue a homicide investigationintohis son'sdeath.

25-year-old Brisson's body was found near Miles Canyon on Sep. 1. Family members had reported him missing three days earlier.

His father, RockBrisson, wonders whether his son'sdeath will ever be solved.

"[Are] the answers ever going to come? We don't know," RockBrissonsays.

Christopher Brissonhad spent time in jail for trafficking cocaine, but his father believeshe'd since turned his life around.

Still, RockBrissonsayshehad a gut feeling something was wrong in the months leading up to his son's death.

"When you get involved in the kind of things he had been involved with, it's pretty hard to put it all behind," RockBrisson says. "Sometimes it comes back to haunt you."

The RCMP aren't saying much about the case, but have said that it's a priority.

"A team of investigators continues to gather evidence and piece together the circumstances surrounding the death of Christopher Brisson," saysCpl. Natasha Dunmall of the Whitehorse RCMP.

Meanwhile, RockBrisson is tellingparentsnot to take time with their children for granted.

"Becausetomorrowmight never come," he says. "Just be close to them."

RockBrisson sayshe's holding onto the only thinghe can be sure of right now.

"The answer I have to keep in mind, for my own sanity, is that I had 25 years with my son."
