RCMP in Fort Good Hope, N.W.T., seize 'substantial' amount of liquor

RCMP in Fort Good Hope, N.W.T.,have seized a "substantial amount" of alcohol from two women travelling near the community on snowmobiles, according to a press release.

On Wednesday, after receiving a tip from the public,RCMPon snowmobilesintercepted the two womenand seized107 assorted bottles of liquor.

Fort Good Hopeallows limitedaccess to alcohol.

"TheRCMPwould like to thank the public for reporting these contraventions and continue to encourage the involvement in keeping the community safe," said Sgt. Bill Mooney, Fort Good Hope's detachment commander in the release.

The community's annual spring carnival is scheduled for this weekend.

"TheRCMPare appreciative for the community's assistance in helping to keep this event alcohol-free," Mooney said.

This incidentis still under investigation.
