Whitehorse RCMP are asking the public to help them identify a man who pepper-sprayed a gas station clerk during arobbery attempt over the weekend.

Const.Dean Hoogland says the man went into Goody's Gas Bar at around 5 a.m. Saturdayand demanded money. He didn't get any but still pepper-sprayed the employee before leaving empty-handed.

"The employee was sprayed with bear spray," said Hoogland. "He's fine. He was treated on scene by ambulance. It wasn't a direct spray, just overspray in the air."

Hoogland says police are reviewing video tapes and looking for help to identify the suspect. He's described as nearly six feet tall and roughly 170 lbs. He was dressed all in black.
