Hundreds of Yukoners gather to mark Remembrance Day

Hundreds of Yukoners filled the seats and stands at the Whitehorse Canada Games Centre Wednesday morning, to mark Remembrance Day.

Standing room only for ceremony at Whitehorse's Canada Games Centre

Roads slippery with fresh snow didn't deter the hundreds of Yukoners who came to a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Canada Games Centre in Whitehorse.

The parking lot filled early and latecomers had to find alternate parking further away. Inside, the seats and bleachers were also full, forcing dozens if not hundreds of people to stand.

The ceremony opened with a prayer and a hymn ("Abide With Me"), before wreaths were laid by dozens of people representing businesses, organizations and local families.
