Fire in Iqaluit destroys 5-plex near Joamie School

Firefighters have put out a fire that started late Monday night in the 2200 block of homes. An excavator has demolished the whole building.

Firefighters have put out a fire in a 5-plex that started late Monday night in the 2200 block of homes near Joamie school in Iqaluit.

An excavator has demolished the whole ofbuilding 2217.

As a result, Apex Road is closed between the Road to Nowhere and Abe Okpik Crescent, near Joamie school.

No other details have been released.
