Iqaluit youth, 12, charged with arson in construction site fire

A 12-year-old has been charged with arson with damage to property in relation to a fire at a construction site near Creekside Village in Iqaluit on Saturday night.

A 12-year-old is facing an arson charge in connection with a fire at a construction site in IqaluitSaturday night.

Iqaluitfire chiefLuc Grandmaisonsaid about 30 bales of insulation material was on firenear theCreeksideVillage townhouses whenfirefighters arrived on the scene around 10 p.m.

The youth has been charged with arson with damage to property.

Police say they are still investigating.
