It was another record breaking year at the Kluane-Chilkat International Bike Relay, with a mixed Canadian-American team winning the race.

The top three teams finished the race from Haines Junction to Haines, Alaska, in less than six hours.

A four-man team, Bleeding Seabird Flavour, was the first in. It was made up of two Yukoners, Mike McCann and Paul Christianson of Whitehorse and two Alaskans, Dan Harrington and Henry Irving.

They were followed seconds later by the second and third place teams. The second team, Cowboy Junkie, had only one rider. Scott Stevens of Whitehorse cycled the entire 240 kilometres all on his own.

The third place team was the Yellow Jersey's four-man team from Sitka, Alaska.

Ideal weather conditions for a second year in a row helped smash the race's previous records. The first nine teams to cross the finish line all broke last year's record time.

There were 201 teams in the relay this year.
