Yukon RCMP find vehicle that left scene of Matthew Devellano homicide

Witnesses had reported seeing a dark-coloured minivan leave the scene of a fatal shooting in Whitehorse on Oct. 7. Police say they've found the vehicle, but no arrests have been made.

Yukon RCMP's Major Crimes Unit has found the vehicle that may be linked to a fatal shooting in Whitehorseearlier this month but still, no arrests have been made.

Matthew Devellano, 32, was shot Oct. 7 in the Porter Creek neighbourhood. He was taken to hospital, but died of his injuries. (Facebook)

Matthew Devellano, 32, was shot the night of Oct. 7outside a home on Stan McCowan Place, in the city's Porter Creek neighbourhood.Hewas taken to Whitehorse General Hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators had asked the public to keep an eye out for a dark-coloured minivan, possibly red or maroon, that was seen leaving the scene shortly after the shooting.

RCMPthanked the public for their help, but have said no more about the vehicle they found.

The homicide investigation in continuing.
