Royal Canadian Mint's new $20 coin has northern lights, raven

The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a new northern-themedcollectors' coin in Whitehorse Monday.

The $20 silver coin retailing for more than $100 features a raven set against a holographic sky of northern lights.

Alex Reeves, communications manager with the Mint, says the coin's unveiling coincides with a meeting of the Mint's executive and board of directors in Yukon this week.

Local politicians and First Nations leaders were at the KwanlinDn Cultural Centre to see the new coin.

According to the mint only 8,500 of the new coinswill be produced.

The coin,called"Astory of theNorthern Lights: Raven," wasdesignedby Ontario-based Mtisartist Nathalie Bertin.
