Igloolik man charged in weekend death

A 26-year-old Igloolik man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of another man on the weekend, Nunavut RCMP say.

Peter Angutimarik wasarrested after Esa Angutiqjuaq, 19, was found deadat a residence in the community of 1,600 early Saturday, police said.

Police discovered the bodywhen theyresponded to a call about a young man who needed medical attention.

They took two other men who lived at the residence in for questioning and later chargedAngutimarik.

Angutimarik is scheduled to appear in Iqaluit court on Tuesday.
