Tip from resident helps RCMP find missing Watson Lake woman

Jeanicia Moskaluk, 64, and her dog Lucky were found by RCMP dogs about three kilometres from where they were last seen.

The searchfor a missing 64-year-old womanin Watson Lake, Yukon, has ended with a sigh of relief.

RCMP sayJeanicia Moskaluk was found safe shortly after 9 p.m. Friday night.

She was reported missing after not returning from walking her dog Lucky late Thursday evening. She was last seenat 520 Adela Trail and was foundnear Second Wye Lake, about three kilometres away.

MoskaluktoldRCMPshe couldn't see very well and got lost while walking her dog.

Watson Lake RCMP say its dog services used a white shoe to locate Moskaluk. A member of the community found the shoe and turned it in to police Friday evening.

"[This]safe rescue was made possible thanks to a tip from a member of our community," said Srgt. Cam Lockwood of Watson LakeRCMP. "Thank you for stepping up and assisting us with the search."

Moskaluk was assessed in hospital Friday night.

No word on any injuries.
