Wildlife officers kill polar bear near Federal Road in Iqaluit

Another polar bear was spotted Tuesday afternoon in Iqaluit and was quickly tracked down by wildlife officials.

3rd polar bearing sighting near the city since July

Another polar bear was spotted Tuesday afternoon in Iqaluit.

Wildlife officers arrived quickly at the site and killed the bear near the gravel pit on Federal Road.

This is the third bear to wander into Nunavut's capitalthis summer. Two polar bears were spotted close to Iqaluit in July.

One entered the community and was killed by wildlife officers.

It's highly unusual to see bears in Nunavut's capital.
