Clue found in case of ex-Hells Angel

The RCMP say they've uncovered a clueduring a search of a Nova Scotia property that will help them solve the case of Randy Mersereau, a former Hells Angel who vanished 11 years ago.

Investigators spent eight days at a property on Onslow Mountain in Colchester County. The search ended Thursday.

Sgt. Brigdit Leger, an RCMP spokeswoman, told the Truro Daily News investigators found something, but she couldn't give detailsbecause the case is ongoing.

"I can confirm information was gleaned that will advance this investigation," she told the newspaper.

Mersereau was last seen in the Truro and Shubenacadie area on the Halloween weekend in 1999. Police found his car on Highway 102, between Truro and Halifax.

He disappeared about a month after escaping a bomb blast at a used car dealership in Bible Hill that injured seven people. Police said he was involved in a drug war with the Angels, his former club.

In September 2000, his brother, Kirk Mersereau, was killed in Centre Burlington, near Windsor, N.S.

Investigators believed he was the victim of a planned and possibly professional killing.

Leger has said little about what led investigators to the property on Onslow Mountain.

Last week, she told CBC News that investigators received new information about Randy Mersereau's case. Shewouldn't say if they were looking for his body.
