Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton pumpkin display fixed after vandals strike

A Nova Scotia family whose Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton front-lawn pumpkin display was vandalized on the weekend has made it great again.

The Hafting family in Annapolis Royal does an annual display at this time of year that is topical, and this falldecided it should beClinton and Trump. Past displays includea Star Wars-themeand theroyal wedding ofPrince William and Kate Middleton.

The latestdisplay was put up on Oct. 3. Some timelast Friday evening or Saturday morning, both pumpkins were decapitated.

Clinton's head was placed on Trump's podium, but it had been scalped.Trump's head ended up on the ground, but hishair which was in part made of chicken wire to giveit volumemade it all the way to a neighbour's lawn.

The family noticed the damage Saturday morning while they were in the kitchen cooking breakfast.

"We just kind of all shouted, 'Sabotage!' at the same time and we ran out the house and there was our pumpkin display dismantled," said Paula Hafting.

After speaking with police, she learned other acts ofvandalism had taken place in Annapolis Royal, including a mailbox that was smashed and some letters stolen from a community bulletin board.

Realizing the attack wasn't politically motivated, the family didn't resort to building a wall, la Trump. They justdecided to fix the display.

Hafting says the family's displays haven't been vandalized before.

This year's display is especially popular, withpeople getting out of their cars and running up the lawn to take selfies with the American presidential candidates.

Hafting says it's not unusual to have two or three cars parked at a time andsays Trump appears to be the more popular of the two candidates.

'Traditional orange shade of pumpkin'

"I'm not sure whether it's his hair style that we've done or the fact he's the traditional orange shade of pumpkin, but he's definitely getting more attention than poor Hillary who is next to him," she said.

With 15 days until the election, the display is ready for the final stretch of the campaign.

"We've made Donald Trumpkin and Hillary [Clinton] great again," said Hafting.
