Celtic Colours and Fiddlers Run in tune with running music

Fiddlers Run participants will enjoy live music along the route, thanks to a partnership with Celtic Colours International Festival.

The 11th annual Cape Breton Fiddlers Run on Sunday is in step with another popular event happening this week in Cape Breton.

Run co-chair David Gabriel says they are making a connection with the Celtic Colours International Festival.

"It's great music for a run,"Gabriel said."So we have Celtic music at different spots on the course and the Cape Breton Highlanders pipeband is going to be providing entertainment and encouragement."

Close to 600 people will take part in the Fiddlers Run.There is a half-marathon, a half-marathon relay, a five-kilometrerun and walk, and a 10-kilometrerun.

There is a children's eventSaturdayevening called the Glowing Hearth Youth Run.There's also a sports expo, a pasta dinner, storytelling circle, dancing and Celtic music.
