Of course, the beaver answered the call to make a music video poking fun at Canadian stereotypes.

A man dressed in a furry beaver suit joined hundreds of other music lovers most dressed in red and white for rap artist Classified's take on what it means to be Canadian.

Some wore Canadian hockey jerseys. One was dressed as a Mountie.

The cheering, flag-waving fans marched down a street in downtown Halifax, as Classified's Oh Canada blared through loudspeakers.

The rap artist, otherwise known as Luke Boyd, is impressed that 300 people braved the cold for Sunday's shoot. He advertised online for up to 1,000 extras.

"This is great to have this many people to come out," he said. "The director of the video is from Toronto and she said it would be hard to get this many people out in a city as big as Toronto This is that Maritime love that is part of where people come from."

Classified plans to release the video for Oh Canada in time for the Vancouver Winter Olympics next month.

The Enfield, N.S., native has been nominated for several East Coast Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year for his album Self Explanatory.
