After six years at the helm of the party,John Percy announced his resignation at the annual general meeting Saturday.

"I have looked in the mirror and I see that something needs to change," he said in a statement to the media.

"I have been grateful for the experience, but age and health concerns now carry the same weight as the issues I address in my position."

"And lord knows, the last thing this province needs is yet another leader with poor vision," he quipped.
