Man charged with first-degree murder after Halifax stabbing

Police have charged a36-year-old man with first-degree murder after a stabbing intheHalifax community of Spryfieldearly Wednesday.

Police have charged a36-year-old man with first-degree murder after a stabbing intheHalifax community of Spryfieldearly Wednesday.

A news release said police were called to Twin Oaks Roadaround 2:20 a.m. after reports of a stabbing.

A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died. He's been identified asAdam Jerome Dempsey.

A 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene without incident.

Alexander Charles Howewas scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Thursday morning to face a first-degree murder charge.

The investigationis ongoing, but police do not believe it was a random incident.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy.
