A man has died after falling 6 storeys at a work site.

The Department of Labour has halted construction at a building on Greenpark Close in Clayton Park after a 21-year-old mandied after falling six storeys at the work site.

Emergency officials were called to 110 Greenpark Close shortly after 10a.m. on Thursday.

Halifax Regional PoliceConst. Pierre Bourdages said there is limited information, but investigators believe the man fell from the top floor of a building under construction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name has not been released, but police said he's from Lower Sackville.

The provincial Department of Labour issued a stop-workorder as it investigates what happened.

The accident is on the same site as another work site fall a few weeks ago when a 25-year-old man pouring concrete on the sixth floor of a condo under construction fell, injuring his leg.

"I can't imagine how this young man's family must be feeling," Kelly Regan, the Minister of Labour, said in a statement. "I want to assure the family and all Nova Scotians that our investigation is underway, and we are committed to finding answers quickly."

This is the 28th workplace fatality in Nova Scotia this year, said the province. In 2012, 32 people died at work.
