Marian Mancini will represent the NDP in the upcoming Dartmouth South byelection.

The NDP held their provincial nomination meeting Wednesday night at the Mic Mac Amateur Aquatic Club.

Mancini was running against Bill Zebedee and Tracey Livesay.

Mancini is a retired Nova Scotia Legal Aid lawyer and worked in Cape Breton. She and her family have lived in Dartmouth South for 14 years.

Of Mancini's opponents for the upcoming byelection, only Gord Gamble of the Tories has been confirmed. Brian Churchill, Ian Murray and Tim Rissescohave filed papers to seek the Liberal nomination, a position previously held by Allan Rowe.

Rowe passed away on March 16 after an aneurysm.
