Travel plans in Maritimes being impacted by poor Canadian weather

Messy winter weather from away and expected messy weather here are disrupting travel plans in the Maritimes.

At airports in Halifax, Moncton,Saint John and Fredericton, there have been some flight cancellations to and from Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto because of a winter storm that is working its way through Quebec and Ontario.

In the Maritimes, the worst weather is expected in parts of southwestern Nova Scotia and southern New Brunswick,with 15 to 25 centimetres of snow forecast. Northern areas of the Maritimes, such asBathurst, N.B.,P.E.I. and Cape Breton are only expecting two to five centimetres.

Maritime Bus issued a travel advisory because of the expected snowy weather coming to the Maritimes today. It is warning travellers to prepare for delays and possible cancellations.

In Halifax, the city announced the overnight parking ban will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
