Mysterious emu captured

A runaway emu was finally captured and euthanized Wednesday in Colchester County.

It was running free for several days.

Police were concerned it would cause a highway accident.

They still don't know where the big bird came from. There are several emu and ostrich farms in the area, but none have claimed ownership.

Emus can grow as tall as six feet, and weigh as much as 90 pounds.
